Maple Burl Table

Handcrafted maple burl table. Originated from the great state of Michigan.

This maple burl table was cut, sanded, and finished with epoxy and polyurethane. The small knots are filled with epoxy, sand, and stone.

A burl is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner which gives the wood a beautiful marbled look when cut and finished. Burls commonly occur on tree trunks or branches as a rounded outgrowth filled with small knots.

The base of this table is a white cedar with a light stain. The foundation of this table is just as beautiful as the tabletop.
